AASSA offers an Invitational Membership for those schools that wish to take advantage of AASSA's
services but not become Full Members.
Schools must:
- be elementary and/or secondary schools
- be led by a Chief Administrative Officer
- have English as the primary language of instruction
- Invitational Member schools who are not fully accredited may be approved by committing to achieving accreditation within five (5) years by an organization recognized/approved by AASSA (U.S. regional accrediting agencies, CIS, or the IBO if the school is offering at least two of the three programmes and if they are being taught in English)
- have governance characteristics similar to those described in U.S. regional accreditation association governance standards
- agree to adhere to the principles, purposes and objectives of AASSA

- Utilize AASSA’s purchasing service for a 10% service charge with no hidden charges—a savings of 2-5% compared to the market average. Because AASSA buys in bulk, we pass along to our members the discounts we receive from vendors. Our shipper Ideal Cargo offers highly competitive rates for warehousing (which is free for 30 days) and shipping to AASSA member schools.
- Attend the annual AASSA Recruiting Fair for a registration fee of $1,000 and pay only $750 for each candidate hired—the lowest fees of any agency. Another advantage of this fair is that it is regional and all candidates aim to work in Latin America.
- Attend AASSA professional development conferences for a registration fee of only $350 plus hotel and the event charge for each conference. AASSA offers four main professional development conferences per year: a Business Managers’ Institute in Miami in July, a Board Chair–Heads’ Governance Conference in Miami in September, and an Educators’ Conference in South America in October.
- Participate in AASSA’s Payroll Service for the same service fee as Full Members: an initial set-up fee of $300 and only $6.00 per check. With AASSA’s new banking arrangements, we will also be able to process payroll into the accounts of Canadians as well as Americans.
- Participation in the annual Salary and Benefits Survey for the region
