we plan to host several virtual connection opportunities.
We plan to be back in-person December 2 - 5, 2021
in Atlanta at the Grand Hyatt Hotel
Grand Hyatt Buckhead
3300 Peachtree Road, NE
Atlanta, Georgia 30305
The AASSA Recruiting Fair, the first to be held each recruiting season, is specific to Latin American and Caribbean International Schools. Typically, there are vacancies in the 50+ schools in attendance for over 350 administrative and teaching positions representing all K-12 educational fields.
Why attend the Recruiting Fair? Approximately 95% of candidates hired each year attend a recruiting fair. It is especially important for candidates new to overseas teaching and those who are new to a a career in education to interview with recruiters face-to-face. Even for seasoned international educators, recruiters like to meet candidates in person, and it is to a candidate's advantage to recruit in person if at all possible.
Cost: The $50 one-time registration fee covers all costs of the AASSA Recruiting Service. AASSA's dedicated team of professionals are here to assist you as throughout your job search process. There are no additional costs levied by AASSA to attend the fair. Candidates are responsible for their own travel and hotel costs.
Steps to Follow
Step 1: Complete the online application process.
You will receive an auto generated email from recruiting@aassa.com once your application is complete. Reach out to us with any questions.
Step 2. Keep your Profile up to date.
Select ACTIVE to activate your candidacy for the current recruiting year.
If you are not currently considering new jobs, select INACTIVE so Recruiters will not see your profile when searching for Candidates.
Select you WILL or WILL NOT attend the Recruiting Fair. Again, it is highly recommended that you attend the Recruiting Fair.
Step 3: Search for Positions
Once we accept you as a candidate and you have paid the one-time fee of $50, you will be able to start searching for positions on the AASSA recruiting database. Our schools will post positions as soon as they come open. Our schools will update positions regularly. Search often and maintain your status as ACTIVE until you accept a job.
Step 4: Update your Status
Maintain your status as ACTIVE and keep your earliest availability accurate. Once you accept a position, change your status to INACTIVE, and notify us at recruiting@aassa.com so we can electronically process your complete file to the school that hired you as well as provide you assistance in your transition.
Step 5: Plan to Attend the Recruiting Fair
If you have not accepted a job by November 1 then plan to attend our Recruiting Fair. Our Recruiting Fair takes place the first week of December each year.
Step 6: Make Hotel Reservations (for December 2021 - December 2020 will be virtual)
Again, if you have not received a job offer by November 1, then you should plan to attend our job fair. Upon your notification of acceptance as a candidate, the AASSA office will send an email with further information about the Recruiting Fair and will also provide a link to make reservations at the Grand Hyatt, the site of the fair in 2021.
We have a group rate at the Grand Hyatt. We will email you the reservation link once you are an accepted candidate. Please do not make reservations directly with the hotel or any other reservations company.
Be sure to make reservations at the Grand Hyatt and finalize your travel plans at least three weeks out from the fair.
